Excellent pepper beef; quick service even we arrived after 10pm.

Had delivery from here I got tso chicken and wantons my boyfriend got broccoli chicken and ribs. The ribs, wantons, and broccoli chicken were all amazing the aside on those tso chicken was great but the chicken was so dry I didn't care for it but they had large portions and great friend rice! We got everything for $31.00 it tasted great and was hot when it got to our door! Also I forgot to total my ticket (paid with a card) and so once I realized I did that I was checking my bank account for a while after just waiting to see the tip he gave himself though it never happened and now I feel terrible I didn't tip the poor guy! I would definitely order take out from here again and again!

I'm visiting Lake Charles from Texas. It has been a very long time since I've had Chinese food this delicious. There were 20 in my group and they were able to accommodate us. I ordered the Mongolian beef and it was amazing. All in the group had nothing but good things to say about Jojo's. Great place, service, prices and food.

I love this place.. The meals are reasonably priced for lunch.. I love to go to Chinese restaurants that are not buffets.. The food is fresh and the atmosphere is nice.. My husband and I will be back soon.

In the land of endless buffets with MSG loaded food, this is a huge revelation. A real white table cloth, sit down Chinese restaurant. There is not one thing on the menu that we have tried that wasn't just the best. Our favorite place to go for oriental cuisine.

Do not eat here! I won't say the food here is terrible^but my cooking is definitely better than it's food and it's ridiculously expensive!!! For each dish we had,I can think of another restaurant in Houston that prepared it exceedingly better! Also, the employees here were unfriendly , even rude!

Didn't have such a good experience tonight. My drink had a grease ring inside the glass and had ants in the booth. One bit me on the foot. Food was good. Next time hopefully will be better.

Arguably the best Chinese food in Calcasieu Parish. Wait staff has been lacking the last few times I've eaten here.

I ordered three different things for lunch today. They were all GREAT! They said they could deliver my food in 45 minutes, it did not take that long at all. I was very surprised. Oh and if you like soup get the special wonton soup its EXCELLENT!!

Not overly impressed. Both my husband and I got dishes that were supposed to be spicy, but were not at all. Flavors were ok, nothing special. I was a little surprised the meal didn't come with a soup or appetizer like many other Chinese restaurants I've been to offer. Took a while before the waiter took our order because he was doing everything. But once we ordered, our food was out pretty quickly.

Great Chinese food, service and prices. Open 7 days a week too. Ordered the ribs, sweet and sour chicken, pepper steak and pork fried rice. It was all great.

My husband and I drove from out of town to have a nice meal together. This was not as enjoyable as our other visits to Jo Jo's. As usual, the restaurant was cool and quiet. This is one of the best things about Jo Jo's. The booths are roomy and comfortable. The music is at a level that allows pleasant conversation with your guests. The atmosphere is great for a romantic dinner or a family meal. We ordered egg rolls as an appetizer, which were slightly undercooked. The cabbage stuffing was too crunchy and there was no other flavor to the eggroll. For my entree, I ordered Honey Crispy Shrimp with steamed rice. (I wanted fried rice, but the rice is not made to order, so I could not get it without egg. Lost a star for that!) The waitress was friendly and polite, but did not have a good command of the English language, so she could not adequately answer my questions about the dish. As a result, I got a meal that I would not have ordered had I known it was smothered in an extremely sweet honey-citrus sauce. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, but were ruined by the sauce. I could not eat the dish and ended up getting a hamburger on the way home! My husband ordered stir fried chicken with a side order of chicken fried rice. While he had no complaints about his meal, he felt that it could have been much better. We've had better meals at Jo Jo's and we will visit again, but not for a while and we will not order these entrees.

Not a buffet...fresh food great service whether you're dining in or getting to go. Eggrolls are really good also...like the sweet n sour sauce with the horseradish sauce dollop in the middle....mmmmm

Nice, large chicken balls for their general Tso. Ordered it extra spicy and it just isn't spicy so ask for a side of chili sauce.

I haven't ever actually been in here. I always order for delivery, which is always delivered within an hour of my order. They deliver within a 5-mile radius of the restaurant. I always get a lot of food for the price. Rice that comes with the entree isn't fantastic, but it's passable. Entrees are always delicious.

Lake Charles has a surprisingly large number of "chinese food" places (it's in quotes because you and I both know they're serving up homogenized Asian-American slop for the most part). I've tasted a good amount of them, and Jo Jo's stands out above the rest. I had the seafood combination plate. The veggies were cooked well and tasted fresh, as well as the assortment of seafood. The ambiance is nice and clean, and not tacky like most of the chinese places around town. The food is a little expensive (I think I paid about 12 dollars for my one plate, which actually did not completely satiate my hunger); however, I believe in this case, the price was worth it.

We went here for lunch one day during a recent visit to Lake Charles. What you're going to get is fine service with decent-sized portions of slightly-above par Chinese food. As long as you don't expect much more, you won't be disappointed. Well priced, but any higher would be too expensive.

Good service, fresh ingredients, nice atmosphere. This is a wonderful alternative to the standard Chinese buffet.

I'm between a 3 and 4 star. I haven't found a Chinese place that is to die for in Lake Charles. But this place does the job when the craving hits. Its not something to wright home about but you should at least give it a try when you want some Chinese to see if you like it.

Americanized chinese food. This is almost as bad as Panda Express and more expensive. If they made food like this in the SF bay area where Asian places are very competitive, Jo Jo's won't survive a year. On the plus side - hmmmm... I have to think hard about that one.

This is a good Chinese restaurant for being in Lake Charles. I enjoy their pepper steak and Three delights dishes. They have good fried rice and egg rolls. Come here to eat at least once a month.

Being a lover of all types of Asian food, I had high hopes for the elegant looking Jo Jo's Bistro. The inside was very nice and very clean, and the servers were very nice and polite as well. However, the food fell very short. Myself and one other got two very typical chicken dishes. It came out of the kitchen very fast. Knowing how long these two dishes normally take to prepare, I was a little uneasy about this. I decided to give it a shot anyway. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, but the chicken is another matter. The dishes were barely above room temperature and the chicken was very rubbery and unappetizing. It seemed more like tofu chicken than actual chicken it was so processed. The curry in one of the dishes was basically water with very little spice and barely had any flavor at all. For the price of the meal (which was pretty high considering the generic menu items,) I expected a lot of flavor in a generous portion. Neither of which actually happened for me. Maybe I'm disappointed about the food because the atmosphere made me unconsciously set my expectations high, but I did not enjoy the Asian cuisine at this bistro. Pre made meals are not for me, leave that to PF Chang's!

Pretty much an upscaled Panda Express turned into a restaurant, nothing ground breaking. But service is great and the environment of the restaurant is overall clean and comforting. It's great for a cheap eat so I'd recommend it!

I've only done takeout so can't tell you about delivery or the service. The pan fried dumplings were good. I really like that they have a diet menu. My chicken and vegetables were steamed and the sauce was on the side so I could put as much or little as I wanted.

We have been to Jo Jo's twice and had it delivered twice. Food quality is inconsistent, price is high for what you get, service is lousy on one visit and okay on next. I am hooked on their honey shrimp but will probably only get it to go or delivered. I wouldn't subject someone else to the inconsistencies at Jo Jo's.

We were passing through on our way to New Orleans from Austin. We are glad we decided to try this place...probably the best steamed dumplings I've ever had, and I'm a S.F. native. We ordered Happy Family and Curry Chicken and both were excellent! I highly recommend this place!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
